What's on at Alsager Creative Stitchers
Alsager Partnership is holding an open day at Alsager Civic Hall on 13th March 2016 between 11am and 3pm. It is called Alsager Together and we are having a table to showcase our work. If anyone has a piece of work they would like to be displayed, please can they bring it on Tuesday. Please ensure your name is on it. If your work is framed and needs a stand, it would be helpful if you could supply one (named as well), but we do have a few spare stands. Setting up is from 10am. We already have a few volunteers to man the table, but if anyone could spare an hour or two any time in the day to help out, please let Anne, Mary or Sheila know.
Please remember to bring your money for the tickets for Uttoxeter Quilt Show. If you are having a lift it will be £10, if you are having a ticket but making your own travel arrangements it will be £5.
Please bring in your butterflies - completed or not - to display. We are looking forward to seeing how you interpreted 'Torn Apart and Stitched Up'. Fabric will be available for those who missed the 'Up and Running' session in January so you can complete a kantha butterfly.
The sales table was a big success so we will repeat this at each session. Bring in anything craft related that you no longer want.

Kate Cawley talk.
We're looking forward to our next meeting on Tuesday. Kate Cawley will be coming to give us a talk. The talk is entitled " Learning from my mistakes". Sounds like something we can all relate to. Very often our most exciting work comes from making mistakes and moving on in a different direction.
Members and visitors welcome. Please come along and join us.
Here's a few examples of her work.

Rode Hall, Rode Heath
I've just come back from a lovely afternoon at Rode Hall. There was plenty to look at. There is an art exhibition, snowdrop walk down to a lake and a little shop. I can recommend the lunches in the barn cafe. Wrap up warm and have a lovely trip out.

Sales table
Thanks to everyone who brought in books, mags etc for the sales table. Some extra funds were raised for our group. It was also quite interesting to browse the goodies. I bought some lovely pieces of cotton fabric. Please carry on with this as it worked well.
We're all desperately waiting for Spring . In the meantime why not take your camera or phone out and take some photos of seed heads. I took this photo in Trentham Gardens and I love the sculptural shapes. Bridgemere Gardens are great too. I am inspired by the outlines and these will be popping up in an embroidery before too long.
