Uttoxeter Quilt and Stitch Show
Today quite a few members went down to Uttoxeter to the Quilt and Stitch Show.
I'm sure we all had our favourite stalls, quilts and embroidery. There were some super quilts on show. I prefer the quilts with a vintage feel but that is just my preference.
We were delighted to see Margaret Horton's entry for the innovative quilt category. She used a bodice as her inspiration and it was beautifully made. She used some lovely techniques with dyed fabrics.
Here are a few photos of Hilda and Mary enjoying looking at the quilt.

Rosemary has been doing her homework. She is going to show us how to make these little creatures at our next meeting.
You will need to bring scissors that can be used to cut fleece fabric and paper. You will also need to bring your usual sewing kit.

Today's meeting
We spent an interesting afternoon listening to Fiona Nisbet's talk about weaving for embroidery. She has inspired us to experiment with textured threads. Also, she gave us some helpful tips about putting colours together.

Tomorrow's meeting
Don't forget tomorrow we will be welcoming Fiona Nisbet from Shropshire Weavers. She is giving a talk about how weaving can be incorporated into embroidery. It sounds interesting and just a bit different so it should be very enjoyable.
Everyone welcome including visitors.
