January 2nd Stitch an Owl

 The new year starts early for our group, on 2nd January .

We are sewing an owl in Kantha style. Please bring your usual sewing kit with you and an assortment of coloured threads.  If you have an interesting background fabric then bring that too.

Christmas Social

 Today’s meeting started off very business-like with thanks to all those who provided headbands and decorations for the HeadWrappers charity.

The year’s accounts showing us to be balancing the income and outgoings quite well. This means that subscriptions that are due next May can be kept at the same amount as last year, £25.

Next came the “show and tell” with some beautiful work displayed and plenty of ideas for another year of stitching.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

December 5th Christmas social

 The December meeting on 5th, will give us all a chance to bring in a selection of items we have  been working on for the past year. The show and tell is very enjoyable, there will be no criticism only lavish praise for the wonderful amount you have been able to achieve. 

Please bring a small plate of food to share, either savoury or sweet, and be prepared to take home anything not consumed.

If you would like you can bring a Christmas card to exchange for one made by another member.

The tea rota will be circulated at the meeting, please add you name if you are able to help.

We are discussing having “travelling books” again, so if you are interested let someone know so we have an idea of the number of sketchbooks we need.

Thanks to everyone who comes to these meetings and makes them so enjoyable, and also to everyone who organises the speakers and hands on events. You are doing a good job.
