All change for July 7th meeting

The July meeting will still be a hands-on event but Lyn thinks we would not have enough time to make boxes. If anyone would still like to make boxes we could arrange a workshop at a later date.

Lyn has kindly offered a Scandinavian hanging for our afternoon session. Please bring 6 inch felt squares and plain fabric squares, embroidery threads and your usual sewing kit.

July 7th Hands-on

The next meeting will be on 7th July in the upstairs meeting room at Alsager Library at 2pm.

This will be a hands-on session and Lyn Rochester will be showing us how to make covered boxes in a variety of shapes. Please bring your usual sewing kit with you. If you need anything else I’ll let you know at a later date.

June meeting

Heather Wilson’s talk was very amusing though not quite what we were expecting. She told us all about the pictures she paints on commission and about how she had been flooded in Hebden Bridge. She did eventually show us her mad hats and the way she named them.

Gail brought to the meeting the quilt she had put together using the log cabin patterned squares we had each made in the period following COVID lockdown. The library has agreed to display it in its meeting room for a time.

Please could you all make sure you have paid your subs that were due on of before the May meeting as otherwise we may have to charge you visitor rates at the next meeting and workshop. We rely on this income to pay our speakers. It is £35  bank code 20-57-44 account 23785971. Thanks
