Empress Mills day out

Just a little reminder for your diaries.

We are going on a day out to Empress Mills (and also calling in at Boundary Mills for lunch) on the -

16 th November 2016 

Quite a few members have put their names down already. You will be able to bring your friends.Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to come. 

Sheila will tell you all the details about the trip on Tuesday at our meeting.

Next meeting

It won't be long now and we will be resuming our meetings after the Summer break.

Our first meeting will be held on Tuesday 6 th September 2016 at Alsager Library. The meeting starts at 1-45 for 2-00 pm.

Free parking at the rear of the library. Disabled access.

We have a speaker called Jeanette Jackson who is coming to talk to us about Korean textiles.

Her talk is entitled ' Bojagi and Beyond '.

We will welcome familiar faces and hope to greet some new friends too. You don't need to be a great embroiderer but just to be interested in textiles. Meetings end with a tea break and a natter.

Heritage Quilts from the Collection of Barbara Chainey and " Sentinels" an exhibition of new work by Anglia Textile Works and embroidery from local artist Pauline Meads.

I was lucky enough to visit today. It is a large exhibition so there should be something for everyone.
There's also quite a large sales area with hand- made goods,fabric,books etc.
The town has a number of good coffee shops and a selection of independent shops too.

Stockport Art Gallery is only open to the public during exhibition showings.
The gallery is closed on Monday, except for Bank Holidays: 11am to 5pm. 
Tuesday to Friday: 1pm to 5pm. 
Saturday: 10am to 5pm. 
Sunday: 11am to 5pm.

Garden party
