Hexagon crazy

I'm finding myself more and more interested in crazy patchwork. The traditional crazy patchwork evolved by using random scraps of fabric. Old clothes were used out of necessity to give them a new lease of life.

I have used hexagons to work with.

I have made three bags with hexagons.

This bag is my latest effort. The detail of the embroidery is taken from a larger bag I made.

Today's meeting

Today

We were all very inspired by Greta Fitchen's talk today.

She contributes regularly to craft magazines and books.

She brought many quilts to show us. They were Art quilts and lots of techniques were combined to make interesting work. Backgrounds were painted and textured . Patchwork was embellished with stitching. They usually followed a theme often inspired by her travels.

I'm also putting a picture of some of the postcards members have finished.
