October 3rd Christmas patchwork

The meeting on 3rd October will be a members hands-on. Ruth Turner has kindly offered to show us some Christmas patchwork that can be turned into cards. Please bring with you your usual sewing kit, some Christmas material if you have any, and some Christmas coloured threads. Ruth will bring cards and some Christmas material for those who don’t have any.

Sorry about the rubbish photos, they are really much lovelier than I have made them look!

Wire Sculpture Workshop

We had a super workshop today with Priscilla Edwards. She demonstrated how to form the paper covered wires into shapes such as flowers and birds and then 3D vessels such as cups, jugs and shoes.

Then we had a try.

Next it was adding fabrics and paper with hot wax

We could then add notions such as buttons, beads, broken jewellery or feathers, and also sew into the structure.

A fantastic display of all our varied work at the end of the day.  Thanks
