Priscilla Edwards workshop 5th September

Just a reminder that there is no meeting in August.

The Priscilla Edwards wire sculpture workshop will replace the September meeting. Details of it are already on this blog. If you wish to book on it please contact Stevie on araxy@fastmail.uk.

The cost is £28 for members and £33 for nonmembers. You can pay by BACS or by cash on the day.

If you have seen the pictures in the previous posts then you know it would be sensible to keep things small scale for your first attempt. Choose to make one of the the following…a cup and saucer, spoons, birds, flowers, cream jug, sugar bowl, small teapot, small shoe or small figurative pieces .

5th September Priscilla Edwards Wire Sculpture Workshop

There is no separate meeting this month, just a workshop 10am-4pm at the United Reformed Church Hall.

Workshop content description :

Explore the extraordinary possibilities of working with lightweight wire to create small scale sculptures. Discover how to shape wire by simply using pliers and fingertip manipulation to make a structure. Priscilla will share with you her unique combination of creative techniques to embellish your piece using layers of fabric and wax before adding touches of paper, paint, buttons, beads and hand stitch.

As the sculptures develop you will see their distinct characters unfolding and becoming your own unique creations.  Most equipment and materials are provided (see list for suggested things to bring). Please feel free to bring any additional materials you wish to work with. Priscilla’s workshops always encourage you to develop personal pieces of work.

This workshop would suit anyone who enjoys working with mixed media textile and embroidery techniques.
