 Great workshop today with everyone producing a finished piece of work. Raya very helpful and encouraging.

July meeting “Embellishments”

 The meeting on 2nd July is a members hands-on. We have decided to make it one where we find something at the back of a wardrobe or in a charity shop and bring it back to life with some embellishments. Anything goes, bring your sewing kit, haberdashery, odds and ends and something that needs brightening up.

Requirements:

A pair of fabric scissors 

A glue stick

An image of a landscape with bluebells (or use Raya’s pictures)

Material costs:

£5 for materials 

£6 for a frame ( you can bring your own frame, approx. 35cm x 30 cm or 14 inch x 13 inch if the glass comes out of the frame easily, and there is a small gap between the frame and glass).

Cost:

£26 for members, £31 for nonmembers

 The next meeting is a talk and demonstration by Raya Brown about her “Unique Wool Painting Technique “. 

Otomi hands-on

 Great hands on meeting yesterday. Ruth and Sally kindly gave us the benefit of their knowledge of Otomi embroidery which is based on herringbone stitch. Many of us knew this stitch but hadn’t used it for a while. We all had a good stab at it. Many thanks to Ruth and Sally.
