The fifth British Ceramics Biennial (BCB) will happen between Saturday 23 September and Sunday 5 November 2017. The six-week long festival will present work from the UK’s leading contemporary artists in a series of new exhibitions and special events across the city, embracing the heritage of Stoke-on-Trent as the capital of ceramics.
BCB will take place in established venues and non-traditional spaces across the city including The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, Airspace Gallery, Gladstone Potteries Museum, Middleport/Burleigh Pottery and with the main base in the China Hall at the original Spode factory site in Stoke town.
The AWARD exhibition will present exciting new work from the UK’s leading ceramic artists and FRESH showcases the best of recent UK graduate talent. The full programme will be announced in May.
There will also be a programme of family-friendly activities, giving people the opportunity to get clay under their fingernails. Local arts collective B Arts will once again be setting up a pop up café in the China Hall serving homemade bread, soup, cakes and lots more!
The event is FREE to attend and opening times at the former Spode factory site are Tuesday to Saturday (10am-5pm) and Sunday (12-5pm). For full opening times for all venues, check the website.
